JUSTIN SIDNEY
Justin Sidney is a contemporary British artist who demonstrates an innate understanding of the creative process; his command of materials, together with an affinity for colour, texture, and form, has led to an extensive body of art that includes paintings, conceptual constructs, and installations.
As an artist, Justin has lived in both Holland and London, during which he exhibited his work at several prestigious venues and art galleries, including a solo exhibition at London’s Andipa Gallery, which represents celebrated artists such as Damien Hirst, David Hockney, and Banksy.
In his formative years, Justin developed a unique visual language by intertwining tradition with experimental approaches, often pushing the boundaries of conventional painting techniques. His early works are often mistaken for abstract but are in fact close detailed depictions of the overlooked fabric of the built environment and demonstrative of the artists technical skills and attentive eye for detail.
After leaving London, Justin relocated to Scotland's East Neuk in 2017, where he has embraced a more analytical and reflective approach to his practice. This shift has resulted in the creation of deeply contemplative works of art that contain compelling narratives that often elicit an emotional response from its audience prompting debate and meaningful conversations that extend beyond mere aesthetic appreciation.
With a career spanning over two decades he has come to be known among international collectors as an accomplished artist whose works of art can be found in both pubic and private collections across Amsterdam, London, Edinburgh, and New York.
